Hey Photogs! What does it take to start your own photography business? Is it similar to being a freelancer, only you have employees to oversee or do you need to do a little more work as an owner? Mike talks with Amy Bond about the fundamentals of owning a business, why she opened up her own business versus working for someone else, what she first expected to do as an owner, and how she has learned to grow not only her craft, but her business, through social media.
More About our Guest Speaker: Amy Bond is a startup lawyer, competitive pole dancer and the owner of San Francisco Pole and Dance. She writes a blog about running her small business on Medium, and the failings of her youth at www.amybondwrites.com. Her most recent pole dance performance, and 2nd place winner in the Women’s professional division at the Golden Gate Pole Championships 2018, is a piece about sexual assault to Rupi Kaur’s spoken word piece, “Typical Thursday”. You can also find her on Instagram, @amysunshine007, and on her Facebook page, Amy Bond.
